Student Times is calling for the arrest of Dr. Hasan Abdin ambassador to the Sudan for alleged complicity by the Sudanese government in the Genocide being committed in the Darfur region of the Sudan.
Ian Thomas, Editor said “Our government are doing nothing about this situation and the UN has little or no power” “We are calling on Students to demonstrate outside the Embassy Every day until the genocide stops. “If students see the ambassador in the street we call on all make there views known or make a citizens arrest.
We are doing this in order to support George Clooney who speaking at the United Nations Security Council said that millions could die in "the first genocide of the 21st century" unless peacekeepers are sent to Sudan's Darfur region.
Student Times Said “If UN forces were not sent in, aid workers would leave and 2.5 million refugees would die.”
“More than 250,000 people have been killed and over two million have fled their homes since 2003, when ethnic African tribes revolted against the Arab-led Khartoum government.”
A peace agreement signed by the government and one of the major rebel groups was supposed to help end the conflict in Darfur. Instead, it has sparked further fighting.
Student Times is also calling on the UN and the European Court of Human Rights to bring The President of Sudan, Omar al-Bashir the first Hitler of the 21st Century to justice along with all his ministers
